Description
Description: And here’s my latest photo of Comet Lemmon C/2025 A6, shot at one of the most light-polluted area in Slovenia! But why did I choose this location?
First, I had no other option—the good weather forecast was predicted only for the coastal region. Second, the fortress is incredibly photogenic, and I knew what to expect from this composition.
Of course, I had to tackle the challenge of light pollution – Trieste city in the background rates a Bortle 8 ( just behind the fortress ) .
I knew it would be tough to capture any sky data at all, but in the end, I’m super happy with the result.
Since the location is known for strong bora winds, I was dealing with a tattered Slovenian flag that I wanted to capture as clearly as possible, that took a loong time!
On top of that, I created a self-portrait and lit the castle with a light.
The remains of San Sergio Castle, perched on the edge of Karst Edge above the Rižana valley, are an 11th-century historical monument built to control strategic routes and protect against marauding raiders. Today, the remains of San Sergio Castle offer stunning views of the Bay of Koper and the surrounding villages. This site has become a popular destination for hikers and climbers, featuring a variety of climbing routes and hiking trails to explore.
